Cookie decorating at it's finest! Best toddler app.

My kids love to decorate cookies, especially this time of year! I don't however like dealing with the mess and the time it takes to make the cookies, cut them out, bake them, ice them, THEN decorate! Once a holiday season is enough for me :)

I found the best app on my toddler's preschool i-pad, Cookie Doodle. It has all different types of cookies, cookie cutters, frosting choices and toppings. When you go to "make" your cookie you actually have to shake the i-pad to put in the salt, tilt the i-pad to pour in the spices, crack the eggs, cut the butter and swirl the sifter on the screen for the flour. Then you stir it all together with your finger and press "bake". Once the cookie is "out of the oven" they can choose what color and type of frosting and finish it off with all sorts of items to decorate it - sprinkles, candy, chocolate chips, etc. 

This will keep my 4 year old busy for a good hour if I let him. He comes up with some crazy cookie designs, but it's fun to watch him create and use his imagination. Even my 7 year old will want in on the fun. Last week, we decided to actually try out the recipes that they have on there. So my 7 year old actually made the cookies, and my 4 year old was in charge of putting the ingredients in on the I-pad. So far, we've tried the chocolate chip, strawberry and mint chocolate chip. They have all turned out delicious! Kudos to Cookie Doodle for not only making great pretend cookies, but actual cookies as well! 

The app is only $.99 and if cookies aren't your child's "thing", they also have Shoe Doodle, Donut Doodle, Tie Dye Doodle, Cake Doodle, Candy Doodle, Icebox Doodle, Fashion Doodle, Cupcake Doodle, Snow Doodle, Monster Truck Doodle and Gingerbread Doodle.
